METHUEN, Mass. (WWLP) - Over 50 sugar gliders are looking for homes here in Massachusetts.

According to MSPCA, 51 sugar gliders are coming to the Nevins Farm Adoption Center this week after being rescued from an illegal breeder in Puerto Rico. Now, they need loving homes.
The agency says these tiny marsupials need a complex diet and specialty care and living conditions. They are omnivores that need to eat a combination of insects, fruits, vegetables, nectar-based food, and commercial diet. Sugar gliders are also very social, so they want to adopt out at least two at a time or send them to homes that already have animals.

The sugar gliders are expected to arrive in Methuen on Wednesday and will be made available for adoption as soon as they are ready.
