‘Doin’ It’ Singer Who Made LL Cool J’s 1990s Hit Unforgettable Has a Surprising New Career — and It’s Nothing Like Music

If you were listening to hip-hop in the 1990s, you likely remember the sultry female voice behind one of LL Cool J’s sexiest anthems.
But the woman behind those unforgettable vocals has traded recording booths for power tools, and her latest career move has fans doing a double take.
Le’Sha
un Will, the Brooklyn-born rapper whose provocative delivery helped make the 1995 hit “Doin’ It” a classic, is proving that reinvention doesn’t have an expiration date.

And while some artists spend decades chasing another hit record, she’s busy building something entirely different.
These days, Le’Shaun is renovating homes, transforming trailers into luxury living spaces and teaching thousands of people how to do it themselves.

Now living in Mexico, the former recording artist has become a successful DIY personality with a growing YouTube community.
During an appearance on the “Tamron Hall” show, Le’Shaun revealed how she went from making music history to making over homes.
Hall marveled at the unexpected transformation. But according to Le’Shaun, her passion for building started long before anyone knew her name.
Growing up in a large family with a single mother, she couldn’t afford the Barbie Dreamhouse she wanted. Instead, her brothers gathered cardboard boxes, and 6-year-old Le’Shaun built one herself.
“I was always tinkering,” she explained.
Apparently, little Le’Shaun was already preparing for a future that had nothing to do with platinum records.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she purchased a trailer in Texas and had it delivered to her driveway in Las Vegas. Rather than hire contractors, she gutted the interior herself and transformed the space into a 200-square-foot tiny home.
The finished project featured chandeliers, decorative sconces, fresh insulation and a beautifully designed bedroom.
“They call me Miss MacGyver,” she joked.
Le’Shaun’s creativity has since attracted a devoted YouTube audience. After surpassing 100,000 subscribers, she received the platform’s coveted Silver Creator Award.
She affectionately calls her followers her “co-stars,” crediting them with helping build her second career.
“This is not just my award. This is our award,” she declared.
The show’s Instagram followers couldn’t get enough of the former rapper’s unexpected success.
“That’s MY GIRL!!!!!! She is alladat!!!!!!” one fan exclaimed. Another wrote, “We’re proud of you, Le’shaun! You deserve it!!!”
A third added, “Love this. Let me go on over to YT and become one of her co-stars!!”
Another admirer praised her relationship with supporters, writing, “Calling the audience your co-stars is such a lovely way to share the milestone.”
Still, Le’Shaun’s story didn’t begin with LL Cool J.
During a 2024 interview with Sway Calloway and Heather B on “Sway in the Morning,” she recalled entering hip-hop as a child. Her cousin Miles wrote her first rap when she was just 8 years old. Performing as Sweet Le, she eventually formed the group 2 Much with DJ Short Cut.
Her early provocative song, “Wild Thing,” emerged around the same period as Tone Lōc’s 1988 smash of the same name.
“I thought he bit off of me,” she joked.
Heather B credited Le’Shaun with helping establish a sexually confident style before Lil’ Kim and Foxy Brown became household names.
“This was pre-Kim, this was pre-Foxy,” Heather observed.
Ironically, Le’Shaun admitted that her provocative lyrics weren’t drawn from extensive personal experience.
“I barely had any experience,” she confessed.
Her career also took another unexpected turn in 2013. During an interview with The Source, Le’Shaun revealed that she had moved into professional photography while living in Florida.
She credited rapper, DJ, and photographer D-Nice with inspiring her interest behind the camera. She also addressed her relationship with LL Cool J, insisting there was no lingering animosity despite past controversy surrounding the “Doin’ It” video.
“It’s nothing but love,” she said, adding that she remained friends with his wife, Simone.
More than three decades after making listeners blush, Le’Shaun is still creating. Only now, instead of setting the mood with her voice, she’s setting it with lighting fixtures, interior designs, and a toolbox.
And judging by her growing audience, the woman who helped make “Doin’ It” famous is still doing it. Just with a whole different set of tools.
