(KRON) -- The California Highway Patrol San Jose area office said "first responders pulled off a major rescue" after a vehicle went down a 100-foot dirt embankment Tuesday. The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. near Marsh and Arroyo Hondo roads. CHP San Jose said it responded to the scene, along with several neighboring fire crews, and found two occupants trapped inside the vehicle's wreckage deep down the hillside. "Huge thank you to all the crews on scene who worked quickly under tough conditions to get everyone out safely," said CHP San Jose in a social media post Wednesday. The occupants' current conditions were not disclosed. It is not clear what led to the crash. Officials are using the rescue to remind drivers to slow down and allow for extra braking distance when traveling in rainy, muddy conditions. ...read more read less
