More details have emerged about a drink-throwing incident involving a former member of the Trump administration. President Donald Trump has seen several women dismissed from his camp during his second term. Now, one former State Department employee who found herself on the list of ousted staf fers is making headlines for an explosive confrontation that has sparked backlash. Britt McHenry, a staffer under President Trump, was booed out of an NBA game after throwing a drink in the stands. Britt McHenry recently lost her job as a press adviser for the State Department. The former ESPN correspondent had to resign following a viral confrontation at an NBA game. While attending the Milwaukee Bucks versus Washington Wizards game on Oct. 21, the Stetson University graduate clashed with other spectators in the stands. Cameras caught McHenry, 40, throwing a drink at a man as she stood over him. Other people in the section could be heard jeering the former Fox News personality. Her dramatic exit included trash and towels being thrown in her direction. She responded by blowing multiple kisses to the crowd. Later footage showed McHenry also arguing with security officials in the Capital One Arena. Days later, the conservative pundit spoke out about the ordeal. “It starts with a man in front of us, in what looks like a knockoff Patagonia vest, yelling horrible things at Kyle Kuzma about Kuzma’s fiancée,” McHenry stated in a video posted on Oct. 28. She added, “It was egregiously loud and quite frankly not the type of behavior I have seen in the multitude of games I’ve covered as a journalist or been there as a fan.” According to McHenry, the heckler ridiculed Harlow’s medical condition. The 32-year-old Canadian has vitiligo, which causes patches of skin to lose their pigmentation. McHenry then admitted to making a “snarky comment” by sarcastically asking the alleged taunter, “Oh, I’m sure your girlfriend is really beautiful, right?” She claimed a different man jumped in to say, “Why don’t you shut the f–- up, you dumb b—–.” That prompted her and her friend to leave before they decided to return to their seats. After McHenry came back to the area of the heated conflict, the situation apparently escalated even more. Verbal clashes erupted into a full-blown ruckus. McHenry asserted that the “main agitator” suggested she should be “gang r—” outside. In her recollection, that “vile” comment triggered her to throw a cup of beer at the man. The three-minute video ended with McHenry insisting she was “sticking up” for Harlow and herself. She did not apologize or acknowledge her own role in the confrontation. Unfortunately for McHenry, many social media users did not sympathize with her explanation. Commenters shared their thoughts on how the dispute supposedly played out. An individual on X advised, “Mind your own business or get security involved, problem solved. You still have your job and not embarrassed all over the place.” A second person tweeted, “Not helping herself. Wild how MAGA can’t stop themselves.” “Yeah, sorry, not buying it. We also saw in that video that you turned around and made the ‘yeah, I work for him’ comment, which is indicative of some MAGA bulls— also being involved, that you so conveniently left out,” one poster speculated.  Another critic expressed, “This woman is shameless. She starts the story, and less than a minute in, she uses the line in talking about a man sitting near her in ‘what looked like a knockoff Patagonia bag.’ Some people just can’t help themselves. That is Britt McHenry.”  “I don’t believe you. We’ve seen you talk to people you think are beneath you… I have no benefit of the doubt. You’ve always been a nasty soul,” hissed an appalled commenter.  McHenry does have a history of insulting behavior in public. While working for ESPN in 2015, she was filmed berating a towing company clerk’s education and appearance in Virginia. “I’m on television, and you’re in a f—ing trailer, honey,” the former college soccer player rudely said to the worker after making fun of the attendant’s weight and teeth.  McHenry did apologize for those offensive remarks, declaring she would “learn from this mistake.” ESPN suspended her from the network for one week after video of the incident surfaced. With that track record of disrespectful conduct, the Trump-aligned public figure may struggle to win widespread sympathy, particularly among online critics, even as she portrays herself as the victim in this account. This is what truly happened at the Wizards game. I could say a lot more, but I already lost my job for it. I believe in sticking up for another woman, which is what I did, and for yourself when you’re being heckled and harassed. pic.twitter.com/JNnmeVP0ri— Britt McHenry (@BrittMcHenry) October 28, 2026 Trump Staffer Fired After Wild NBA Drink-Throwing Meltdown Reveals What Really Set Her Off ...read more read less
