Authorities are investigating after a body was found in a bag on a Brooklyn street Thursday, according to law enforcement sources familiar with the case. Chopper 4 showed a heavy police presence at the East 91st Street scene in Canarsie, where the body was found. Surveillance video from overnight showed someone drop the dark-colored bag in front of a church overnight, as the man leaned the bag on a light pole. The video also showed a second man, the driver of what may have been an unlicensed taxi, standing nearby after getting out of the car. However, it is unclear whether the driver knew what was in the bag. Several hours later, a man known in the community to collect scrap metal was seen on separate security camera video pulling the bag down the street using a hand truck. He discovered the body, which is believed to be that of a man between 50 and 60 years old, police say. By 9 a.m., the streetcorner was swarmed with police following the gruesome discovery.
