It all started with a stolen doormat. An apartment resident who goes by “iamoctaviaj” shared her “worst neighbor ever” story online in July, complete with a video of the smackdown, and it’s still captivating the internet. Told in multiple parts on Threads, the story, which ended in a physical scuffle, quickly went viral at the time. The saga resurfaced on Threads this week, and viewers are clamoring for updates. She checked her doorbell camera and was shocked to see the white neighbor she used to be friendly with grab it and throw it in the trash. Octavia wrote in a series of July 15 posts: “She tried to LIEEE… like my cameras didn’t just capture her goofy a– sliding my mat to the side, folding it like a taco and tossing it down the chute…” “Now, it’s war,” she wrote. Octavia’s sister was the one who delivered the first payback by throwing fruit punch on the neighbor’s door. Later, the neighbor put trash in front of Octavia’s door, and both women tried to tape over each other’s doorbell cameras. Later on, during a confrontation, Octavia gave the woman a stern warning and, as she tells it, the woman touched her arm. Her sisters flew into action, hitting and pulling hair, with Octavia’s ex-boyfriend caught in the middle. As Octavia put it, they gave the neighbor a “f–k around and find out” moment. Octavia said she never got her doormat back and never considered calling the police, as she was moving out a few weeks later. “I did run into her about a year later at Waffle House… and I was with my sister, who jumped in ironically,” she wrote in a follow-up post, only for the woman to pretend she didn’t remember her.
