Sixteen of Louisiana’s most acclaimed chefs will take the state’s flavors, culinary traditions and hospitality to the Windy City next month as part of “Taste Louisiana in Chicago,” a one-night event designed to give attendees a true taste of the Bayou State.
The Nov. 4 event at City Hall by Recess in Chicago’s West Loop is part of a tourism marketing initiative that encourages travel to Louisiana through one of its biggest draws: food. The showcase is a collaborative effort between the Louisiana Travel Association, Louisiana Office of Tourism, Cajun Coast Tourism/St. Mary Parish and the Louisiana Seafood Promotion Marketing Board.
Guests will sample dishes from a diverse lineup of chefs representing nearly every corner of Louisiana, along with Louisiana-made beverages and live performances by Cajun music icon Wayne Toups and singer-songwriter David St. Romain.
“Taste Louisiana” organizers say the event highlights how food serves as both a cultural touchstone and a driving force behind tourism and community identity across the state.
“We are thrilled to bring the flavors, music and spirit of Louisiana to Chicago for this year’s Taste Louisiana event,” Chris Landry, president and CEO of the Louisiana Travel Association said. “From an incredible lineup of Louisiana chefs and authentic cuisine to award-winning music and the unmistakable warmth of Louisiana hospitality, this event will give our friends in the Windy City a true taste of what makes our state so special and inspire them to experience even more by planning a visit to Louisiana.”
The chef lineup reflects Louisiana’s culinary diversity, from iconic Creole institutions and Cajun favorites to innovative international concepts and award-winning bakeries.

Under his leadership, Cypress Bayou’s culinary team has earned more than 100 medals and awards in Gulf Coast culinary competitions.
Joining him is Karlos Knott of Arnaudville’s Cajun Saucer, the 2025 Louisiana Seafood Cook-Off champion, and Kris Allen, executive chef at Lafayette’s Pamplona Tapas Bar Restaurant and partner at Gravy Restaurant, who was crowned the 2026 Louisiana King of Seafood.
