Woman’s ‘White Chicks’ Scene Reenactment in Blackface Goes Viral for All the Wrong Reasons
Oct 26, 2026
A video showing a white woman in blackface lip-syncing to “A Thousand Miles” by Vanessa Carlton is getting a barrage of backlash online, with many calling the so-called joke “disgusting” and unfunny.
In the brief clip originally posted to TikTok, a woman with dark, messy makeup smeared a
cross her face sings to another white woman in her car, mimicking a scene out of the 2004 comedy “White Chicks.”
In the film, Marlon Wayans plays an FBI agent who goes undercover as wealthy white socialite Tiffany Wilson to bust a serial kidnapper.

Co-star Terry Crews plays Latrell Spencer, who falls in love with “Tiffany” and serenades her when his car stereo plays the 2002 hit song. Crews famously improvised the whole scene.
Critics are trashing the controversial homage as a clear example of racism.
Reshared on X, the viral account “I Expose Racists Pedos” wrote in its Oct. 18 caption: “It’s 2026, and people are STILL doing this racist garbage like it’s entertainment. Blackface is racist. It was never funny. It never will be.”

Historians and experts have long held that whiteface and blackface aren’t the same.
For one, whiteface doesn’t have a comparable history of dehumanization.
And the film’s satire goes well beyond race.
Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, the box-office hit targeted “poor little rich girl” tropes, celebrity culture, gender stereotypes, and, notably, two socialites making headlines at the time: Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, Lionel Richie’s mixed-race daughter.
Still, many commenters are defending the viral video, arguing that blackface harmlessly flips the film’s premise.
As one wrote, “She legitimately just inverted the scene from White Chicks. That’s the whole joke.” And now, others are retroactively claiming that the whiteface parody in “White Chicks” was racist.
Thousands of people have flocked to the comments to join the debate.
But as one astute commenter put it: “Who wakes up in the morning and decides, ‘Yeah, let me go make a video in blackface.’”
Another noted, “She could’ve easily made the video without blackface. The point is to be cringe by singing, not to be cringe while being racist.”
