A man died and a woman was arrested following a hit-and-run crash in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood early Sunday morning, according to the police department. Police said officers responded to the 800 block of Ellis Street around 1:06 a.m. regarding a crash involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found an injured man. Authorities said officers rendered aid and the man was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead. Police said the driver involved had left prior to the officers’ arrival. Through the course of the investigation, authorities said they traced the vehicle’s location to Treasure Island. There, police said the California Highway Patrol had the suspect vehicle stopped for an unrelated traffic violation.
