FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO) – The Fort Wayne Zoo is celebrating a milestone birthday for its only lioness. Ina turned 20 years old Friday. She’s been at the zoo since 2009 and celebrated by eating watermelon and tearing apart boxes containing her daily meals. Ina was diagnosed with chronic kidney di sease last year and receives ongoing treatment. The zoo says African lion populations have dwindled to around 20,000 in the wild. Ina can be seen through October 31. The post Fort Wayne Zoo Celebrates Lioness Birthday appeared first on WOWO News/Talk 92.3 FM and 1190 AM. ...read more read less
