While many in the Portland area would prefer to avoid making the traffic-snarled drive along US-26 through the hills into Beaverton, the drive (and frequent slowdowns) is increasingly worth the effort to seek out Beaverton’s ever-growing food scene. Established Portland names, from Canard and Dos Hermanos to Tito’s Taquitos and Loyal Legion, continue to set up new Beaverton branches, drawn by the many Nike and Columbia Sportswear employees that call the area home. But those Portland restaurants join a well-loved selection of local mom-and-pop establishments and expansive Indian and Korean food scenes. The area has even caught the eye of well-known, James Beard-winning chefs as sites for new projects.
