In response to Rick Shapiro’s guest editorial and his opinion on the moral failure of the Republican Party, I felt compelled to offer a different perspective. Mr. Shapiro’s arguments are largely opinion based, and many of his accusations lack meaningful substantiation. Frankly, they echo the same rhetoric Democrats have repeated for years. Perhaps Mr. Shapiro has overlooked some of the significant accomplishments of the current administration. Drug overdose deaths, particularly those involving fentanyl, have declined substantially. Violent drug cartels are facing increased pressure. Efforts to uncover fraud, waste, and abuse in government spending have intensified saving billions, of dollars. New investment accounts for American children, supported by both public and private contributions, have been established. American energy policy, international trade, and global economic relationships are being reshaped. Tariffs have generated billions in federal revenue, while the administration is working to bring industries and manufacturing jobs back to American soil. The administration has taken unprecedented and decisive action to secure our borders and confront uncontrolled mass migration. Public health policies are being reevaluated, and long-overdue questions about the origins of the pandemic and the decisions made by those in authority are receiving renewed scrutiny. Tax relief has been expanded for working Americans, and financial markets have reached historic highs, benefiting millions through their retirement and investment accounts. At a time when nations around the world are struggling to preserve their cultural identities and sovereignty amid the forces of globalization, our president is placing renewed emphasis on American security, economic prosperity, national sovereignty, and the fundamental right to self-determination. The foundation of our country. Not everyone will agree with the methods used to achieve these goals, but reasonable debate, not politically motivated violence, is both necessary and healthy. The rising cost of living remains a serious concern for American families, and there is certainly more work to be done. But dismissing the administration’s accomplishments simply because of political disagreement does a disservice to an honest discussion about where our country is headed. Republicans may not have all the answers, but from my perspective, the policies promoted by today’s Democratic Party and their new ultra radical socialist wing are responsible for many of the very problems we are now working to overcome.  Mike Quinones Park City The post GOP doing great things appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
