Election day is Nov. 3, 2026.(Victoria Long / LPM)The midterm elections are less than two weeks away, and Kentuckians will have lots of decisions to make Nov. 3. LPM News has again produced a voter guide in conjunction with Kentucky Public Radio. It’s a free resource to help residents make infor
med choices at the polls.Executive Editor Rebecca Feldhaus Adams sat down with Kentucky Public Radio’s Ryan Van Velzer to talk about how the guide came together. Listen to the full conversation by clicking the player above. Here are highlights from that conversation and more pro-tips on using the LPM Voter Guide this year.Personalized ballotsTo use the voter guide, enter your address in the search bar. We never store your information, and your address allows the tool to pull all the races that will be on your ballot, based on your precinct.Inviting candidate participationWe invited all contested candidates in state and federal races and some local Louisville races to respond to a questionnaire. We asked them about what they felt qualified them for office, what their priorities are and what they’d do, if elected. For people who didn’t participate, we independently reported, fact-checked and edited information about candidates and distilled it down to a concise biographical sketch and an overview of their priorities. We also note when candidates didn’t participate, so you know where the information is coming from.Contested candidatesKentucky has a lot of races up for grabs this year, and we committed to providing information about contested candidates. That means we did not provide information on candidates who face no opponent.Print your choicesThere are small check boxes beneath each candidate’s name. You can select the candidates you want to vote for and print out a full list to take to the polls with you. Or, you can take your phone with you to the polls to see your selections.
