The recent public statements that recently came to light by Maui Police Chief John Pelletier and Deputy Chief Wade Maeda are quite disconcerting (“MPD commander allegedly protected drug dealers, cockfighters for cash,” Star-Advertiser, Aug. 7). Pelletier’s statement that he “had absolutely n o knowledge of the allegations” reinforces the magnitude of the incompetence, and lack of leadership abilities. ...read more read less
