Oct 20, 2026
Rinse and repeat! It was another gorgeous 70+ degree October day in the Denver metro area. Temperatures will stay mild tonight, with lows in the upper 40s around Denver and low 40s in the colder spots across the northeastern pla
ins. Mid 70s through Friday in Denver metro; cooler, wet weekend aheadGet ready for another stretch of unseasonably warm weather. High pressure builds in tonight, pushing temperatures into the mid to upper 70s across the Front Range and eastern plains through Friday. Wednesday will bring a mix of sunshine and increasing clouds, with a few showers developing over the mountains late in the day. Some of that moisture could spill toward the Denver metro overnight, but it'll mainly mean cloudy skies for the I-25 corridor.Thursday brings a better chance for showers across the high country as Pacific moisture streams into Colorado ahead of a low-pressure system off the West Coast. The setup resembles an atmospheric river, funneling moisture toward the Four Corners. Still, limited atmospheric instability and southwest winds should keep rainfall amounts fairly modest across our area. Most mountain locations will see a trace to around a half-inch of precipitation, with locally higher amounts possible in Park County. Snow will be hard to come by in this warm air mass, although a light dusting is possible above 12,000 feet. For Denver and the eastern plains, Thursday looks mostly dry and warm, with highs in the mid-70s and partly cloudy skies. A few sprinkles could reach the metro if showers make it off the foothills, but dont count on much measurable rain.Friday could bring a fire-weather concern across eastern Colorado. Gusty south-southwest winds could reach 30 to 40 mph across parts of the plains as temperatures climb into the upper 70s. If humidity levels drop into the 20% to 30% range, the combination of wind and dry air could create critical fire-weather conditions. Keep an eye on the forecast, especially if youre planning outdoor activities.A cold front arrives Saturday morning, bringing gusty northerly winds and a potential cooldown. The big question is how much cooler and wetter this front will be. Some forecast models point to low clouds and temperatures well below average, while others keep highs closer to the low 60s. Mountain snow is becoming more likely Saturday into Sunday, but the weekend forecast still has some uncertainty. Beyond that, next week remains a bit of a question mark as forecast models disagree on the next weather pattern.DENVER WEATHER LINKS: Hourly forecast | Radars | Traffic | Weather Page | 24/7 Weather StreamClick here to watch the Denver7 live weather stream.
