(KRON) -- The Sebastopol Police Department said officers responded to Ives Park Monday to investigate a report of a man brandishing  a weapon at two children, ages eight and nine. According to police, “The children reported that the man displayed a screwdriver and threatened them, stating, ‘Do you want to f*****g get stabbed?’” Police said they were able to develop a detailed suspect description thanks to statements from the juveniles, their parents and other witnesses. Police said a canvas of the nearby area led them to the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Noah Curry, in a Safeway parking lot. Police said a screwdriver was located in Curry’s pocket. Curry was arrested and faces several charges, including criminal threats, child endangerment, brandishing a weapon, and violation of parole. Police said he had just been released three days from jail for a separate incident prior to this latest run-in. Police said, “Curry is currently on parole and is known to our officers from many contacts and previous similar incidents in Sebastopol. This arrest marks his fifth custodial arrest in the city this year and he had only been released from jail for three (3) days since our last arrest and parole violation…He was subsequently booked into the Sonoma County jail, again.” No injures were reported. “This type of ridiculous and unacceptable conduct has no place in our community,” added police. “The Sebastopol Police Department will continue to do everything within our means and lawful authority to address this behavior and keep it out of our city.” ...read more read less
