Oct 20, 2026
(BCN) -- Tuesday in the Bay Area calls for partly sunny conditions with cloud cover across the region before showers later in the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Daytime highs will be mostly in the low to mid 60s on the coast, mid 60s to low 70s around the bay, and in the high 60s t
o mid 70s inland. Overnight lows will be in the high 40s to low 50s.
Forecasters expect rain to reach the Bay Area and Central Coast overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing cooler weather and a small chance of thunderstorms along the coast.Tuesday is expected to remain mostly calm, with temps below normal and occasional wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph, according to the NWS.
The first showers could reach the southern Central Coast on Tuesday night before spreading across the rest of the Central Coast and Bay Area overnight. Rain chances are expected to increase Wednesday. The North and East Bay are less likely to receive more than one-tenth of an inch of rain, while the Central Coast has a greater chance of reaching that amount, forecasters say.
The chance of thunderstorms remains below 20%, with the greatest risk along the Central Coast, particularly near Big Sur. Wednesday afternoon could bring the best chance for storms, though the timing remains uncertain, the NWS says.

The weather service also warns that thunderstorms could bring sudden, shifting wind gusts and that rain could trigger debris flows near the scars left by the Timber and Plaskett fires if rainfall reaches certain levels.
