A helicopter pilot was hospitalized late Monday evening after police say he brought his aircraft down in the yard of a New Jersey home. Fortunately for the pilot, police say he owned the yard. Kinnelon police responded to a 911 of a “helicopter down” around 8:30 p.m. at the private home along Kinnelon road. They said the pilot had been attempting to land the helicopter on his property before the rough touchdown. Police said the man was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated.
