Gloria Pugh, President and CEO of Tallahassee based AMWAT Moving Warehousing Storage, has been selected to participate in Season 4 of Lovable SheBuild, a global initiative bringing together women from around the world to build technology using artificial intelligence. The selection places Pugh am ong a highly competitive international community of women using AI to turn real world problems into working software. In the previous SheBuild season, 3,370 applications were submitted from 122 countries, with only 210 women selected to participate. Pugh will represent Tallahassee and AMWAT during the 72 hour virtual build event, where she will develop a technology solution inspired by a challenge she has experienced firsthand in the furniture, fixtures and equipment receiving and warehousing industry. Her project focuses on improving the chain of custody and communication surrounding FFamp;E shipments for interior designers, project managers, receiving warehouses and other stakeholders. The concept grew from Pugh’s years of experience operating AMWAT and her increasing use of artificial intelligence and technology to improve business operations. “What makes this opportunity especially meaningful to me is that I am not coming into it as a software developer. I am coming into it as a business owner who understands a real industry problem and is learning how AI can help solve it,” Pugh said. “I am excited to represent Tallahassee, AMWAT and women in business while competing alongside women from around the world.” Pugh has led AMWAT since 2005 and has increasingly focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence in small business. Her selection for SheBuild represents the next step in that work, combining her operational experience with emerging technology to explore solutions that could extend beyond AMWAT to the broader FFamp;E receiving and logistics industry. AMWAT Moving Warehousing Storage is a Tallahassee-based moving, warehousing and logistics company serving residential, commercial and FFE clients. The post AMWAT CEO/President, Gloria Pugh, Selected for Lovable SheBuild, a Global AI Building Competition first appeared on Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. The post AMWAT CEO/President, Gloria Pugh, Selected for Lovable SheBuild, a Global AI Building Competition appeared first on Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. ...read more read less
