A recent letter voiced concern about immigration enforcement policy (“Protect Hawaii from sanctuary state laws,” Star- Advertiser, Oct. 4). Gov. Josh Green’s signing of Act 141 to stop our local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration actions, the writer claims, is a step tow ard Hawaii becoming a “sanctuary state.” The writer seems to label our immigrants as aliens living in the U.S., illegally moving in next door and getting special consideration.
