Saturday morning, the Pro-Active Alliance of Park City joined groups across the country with the No Kings movement’s vote early rally ahead of Election Day. The event was at the pedestrian bridge over Interstate 80 in Kimball Junction, with Protesters of all ages and a few dogs attending. Peop le held signs protesting the Trump administration and urging citizens to vote. There were messages supportive of women’s rights and advocating for democracy. Organizers also handed out American flags and sign-making materials. Cars passing by honked. Organizers also displayed large signs with “No Kings” and “Vote Early” messages. After about two hours, the crowd marched to the Sheldon Richins Building to drop off ballots for early voting. As they marched, the crowd chanted “We show up, we speak out. Vote! Vote! Vote!” Several No Kings rallies have taken place across the country since summer 2025. This was the fourth organized in Park City. This rally came together with a special message: get out and vote. “You have to be part of democracy to fix it,” said Kori Shadrick, co-Founder of the Pro-Active Alliance. Shadrick said it’s important especially for younger people to vote this time around. Younger generations might be disenchanted with democracy and the state of the country, Shadrick said. She wants them to learn the importance of individual action from Park City history.  “We learned that here in our mayoral race last year, it was six or seven votes that made the difference,” Shadrick said. “In a small community like this, it does matter and it does have an effect.” Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Ballots were mailed Oct. 13. To receive a mail-in ballot, a voter must be registered to vote by Oct. 23. Early voting varies by county: In Summit County, early voting runs Oct. 28-31. In Wasatch County, early voting runs Oct. 27-30. The post Pro-Active Alliance of Park City hosts No Kings rally encouraging early voting appeared first on Park Record. ...read more read less
