CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- One person was displaced after a house fire in Chesterfield County on Saturday afternoon. According to a release from Chesterfield County Fire and EMS, crews responded to a call for a house fire in the 15600 block of Silvertree Lane at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17. Firefighters found smoke coming from the home and a kitchen fire that extended up into the attic, officials said. No one was injured, but one adult was displaced and is being assisted by the Red Cross, the release said. The fire was believed to be caused by unattended cooking, according to officials.
