KOKOMO — A 20-year-old woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Howard County early Sunday morning. According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash around 12:30 a.m. on County Road 1350 East. Hope Justice Jones was a passenger in a black Honda Civ ic that deputies found in a nearby field. She was ejected from the vehicle. A medical helicopter was called to the scene, but Jones died before being flown to the hospital. The driver, Morgan Killebrew, 21, told deputies an animal ran into the road, and he lost control of the vehicle. Crash investigators determined the car went through a ditch, hit a utility pole, then struck a telephone utility box before coming to rest in a field. Killebrew cooperated with investigators and blew 0.00 on a breath test. He was taken to St. Vincent Hospital for a blood draw.
