HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A Henrico father is leading the conversation about AI and social media in children's hands with a new platform for parents housing everyday tips and tricks about technology. 3A1Z Stories was launched in July by Khushnood Nabizada after many discussions with other paren ts about how to balance screen time and navigate the digital age with children. “I started 3A1Z Stories to help parents understand both the opportunities and risks of the digital world where the kids live in," Nabizada said. The name comes from his four children. Three of their names start with "A," the youngest beginning with "Z." Nabizada realized there was a need for accessible and digestible information about AI, social media and screens. “For us, what’s important is that our content and what we provide is practical and useful for families, that they can use it today or tonight or this week," Nabizada explained. The platform offers articles and YouTube videos with expert advice, parent stories, and practical guides. Four pillars of Awareness, Affection, Agency and Zenith are at the forefront of their work. Nabizada said he takes the lengthy and technical research available and breaks it down for the everyday person to use at home. He explained that the conversation in his own home about digital safety didn't start off easy, but over time he has seen positive outcomes. “Kids often know more than us about the apps, and it’s hard for us to keep up with them and learn everything. But we can stay involved with building trust and creating a good relationship with our children," he said. Right now, Nabizada is the main contributor to the website, where he publishes once a week, but he hopes to draw in volunteers and partner with schools in the future. ...read more read less
