Bruno Mars concert traffic grips Santa Clara following soldout Levi's Stadium show

Thousands of concertgoers poured onto the roads surrounding Levi’s Stadium following pop icon Bruno Mars’ sold-out performance on Saturday night.
The concert marked the first of two shows this weekend and serves as the final two U.S. stops on Mars’ “The Romantics Tour,” both of which so
ld out quickly.
The venue is notorious for post-event traffic nightmares. Gridlock frequently grips the stadium’s parking lots and surrounding roads, spilling onto U.S. 101, State Route 237 and Interstate 880, which often experience complete standstills following major events.
Fans attending a Bruno Mars and Hello Kitty pop-up earlier Saturday at Santana Row said the heavy delays are simply part of what they have come to expect.
“Yes, it’s horrible. Yes,” said Gizelle M. of Oakland when asked about the multi-hour wait to leave the stadium. She noted she packed “extra batteries” in case she was stuck in traffic for an extended period.
“Traffic took like a maximum of two hours getting out,” said Alyssa Ariel of Fremont, confirming the lengthy delays just to exit the Levi’s Stadium area.
To navigate the congestion, many fans opted for the VTA, ride-shares and pedicabs, which officials note are smart options for those attending Sunday’s concert.
Bruno Mars returns to Levi’s Stadium at 7 p.m. Sunday before wrapping up the tour in Vancouver, British Columbia, next weekend.
