A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car at an intersection in Newark, Delaware, on Friday night, police said on Saturday. The crash occurred at around 7:20 p.m. at the intersection of intersection of Library Avenue and East Delaware Avenue, police said. When officers arrived at the scene , they found the pedestrian and the car involved still at the scene, police said. First responders provided medical care to the pedestrian, who was then taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said. The identity of the pedestrian killed has not been released, and a description of the car or driver involved has not been provided. It is unclear if charges will be filed in the case. The Newark Police Department’s Traffic Response Unit is leading the investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact  Cpl.
