2 juveniles ID’d in San Anselmo school antisemitic graffiti

(KRON) -- The Central Marin Police Authority said two juvenile suspects, ages 12 and 13, have been identified in connection with a hate crime and vandalism that occurred last weekend at Brookside Elementary School in San Anselmo. Due to their ages, their identities will not be released by police.

“Central Marin Police has established substantial criminal evidence to the point that the case has been forwarded to the Marin County District Attorney's Office for criminal charges,” said police in a news release.

Police said they responded at 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 to investigate alleged antisemitic images and writings on the school's asphalt by the multipurpose room.

“The vandalism was classified as a hate crime per the California Penal Code due to the nature of the images and writings and the fact that the asphalt was damaged and defaced. Officers were unable to remove the vandalism but communicated with school administration to facilitate its removal, which the school was able to do on Saturday night after the report,” said police.
Central Marin police are also thanking Ross Valley School District officials and community members who provided tips and helped investigators.
“Their cooperation was instrumental in identifying the suspects,” added police.
