NEWPORT, Ind. — A Chicago man led Indiana State Police on a 20-mile chase through Vermillion County Saturday afternoon after a traffic stop for speeding. Sgt. Matt Ames with the Indiana State Police said 28-year-old Francois Luter was driving 80 mph in a 60 mph zone on State Road 63 near Ne wport when troopers tried to pull him over. Luter refused to stop and fled south for about 20 miles. Officers used stop sticks three times to disable Luter’s vehicle. Troopers then tased Luter before arresting him.
