The approximately 6,500-square-foot property, located at the corner of Bourbon and Iberville streets, was sold for an undisclosed amount by The Arlene and Joseph Meraux Charitable Foundation. Barry Spizer of SRSA represented the seller. According to the Secretary of State’s website, Lata’s Family Investments LLC is owned by Suresh Sadhwani. SRSA said the property attracted multiple offers after being marketed to the firm’s network of investors. It went under contract within days of being listed and closed in less than two months. Built approximately 196 years ago, the three-story building was formerly leased to Mango Mango Daiquiris. Located one block from Canal Street, the property includes a ground-floor bar, a second-floor banquet room with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street and third-floor office space. Lata’s Family Investments plans to lease the property, according to SRSA. The company did not announce a prospective tenant or plans for renovations. “A property like this is one-of-a-kind, and the investors in our network recognized that right away,” Spizer said. “Relationships built over the years are what make a result like this possible.” The building occupies a prominent location near several French Quarter restaurants and entertainment destinations, including Galatoire’s, Bourbon House and Felix’s Restaurant Oyster Bar. Its position near Canal Street places it along one of New Orleans’ busiest tourism and entertainment corridors. The transaction comes as SRSA celebrates its 35th anniversary. The commercial real estate firm provides investment sales and brokerage services across Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, along with residential real estate and property management services in Greater New Orleans. ...read more read less
