BAY ST. LOUIS mdash; Cruisin' the Coast will hold its full event this weekend as winds pick up along the Gulf Coast.FEMA announced it was positioning supplies and resources near the coast as preparations continued across the Gulf Coast. The car show is happening on the same weekend as a Category 3 hurricane, Isaias."At one time we thought we might have to cancel a good portion of the event. Thank goodness we didn't," said Woody Bailey. "We're going to do the entire event. We'll be running all weekend through Sunday."The show fuels the economy in Bay St. Louis and brings an estimated $40 million impact for the entire state. Organizers say they hope heavy winds do not stop the event, which has been going for decades. To the east, Ken Smith with ATT and his team were preparing for the worst and working to maintain phone lines and open communication throughout the storm."The hardest part is we leave our friends and families to come out and do this work, to make sure that those public safety folks are staying connected and can do their jobs and that the communities can stay connected and let people know what their status is," Smith said.Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
