An annual tradition is back in Fort Worth, and the first shoppers came, saw, conquered, and will probably return for more. The Christmas in Cowtown Gift Market kicks off the holiday shopping season. More than 230 vendors are at the Will Rogers Memorial Center through Sunday and ready to help c heck gifts off the list or offer ideas for the hard-to-please. All the shopping comes with a purpose. The Junior League of Fort Worth started the market 20 years ago to fulfill its mission of leadership and service. “Over the course of the 20 years, we’ve donated more than $10 million back to our community. That goes straight back to our community partners and programs. We are our mission is to support women and children, and so those dollars go right back into the mission,” said Alli D’Acosta/President, Jr. League of Fort Worth. “We knew we needed a new fundraiser, and we needed something big that would make a lot of money for the community projects that we support, and this gift market was just the thing, and everyone loves it and embraces it still to this day, and we are really, really proud of it,” said Paige Pate, the chair of the inaugural gift market. Christmas in Cowtown runs through Sunday. This year, early access shopping is available Friday and Saturday mornings.
