Caravan Court gets grand reopening

There’s new life for a hotel in Arlington, and it’s something good for the city and two community leaders.
Caravan Court celebrated its official grand opening and its status as the city’s newest boutique hotel. The general manager says reimagining Caravan Court has been a labor of love.
“We are thrilled to officially open our doors and welcome travelers and neighbors alike to gather, unwind, and experience a new chapter of Arlington history,” Bryce Penn said in a news release.
The classic motor court originally opened in 1961, and the private grand opening event for its modern reinvention, including a synchronized swimming performance, paid homage to the mid-century era.
Another highlight was the special dedication honoring two distinguished Arlington community leaders: Tillie Burgin and David Sargent. Burgin is the executive director of Mission Arlington, and Sargent is a local philanthropist and business leader who began his career as a busboy at the hotel 50 years ago. The hotel’s Stardust Ballroom was dedicated to Sargent; the Wynne Private Dining Room to Burgin.
“Dedicating these spaces to Tillie Burgin and David Sargent grounds our mission in genuine Texas hospitality and local connection,” Bryce said.
Caravan Court is the newest upscale boutique hotel from Texas-based Valencia Hotel Collection.
