Priscilla Louise Campbell, affectionately known as “Phil,” entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.
Priscilla was born on March 2, 1965 to her loving parents, Henry Lee Campbell, II and Madgalene “Maggie” Campbell, both of New Haven, Connecticut. She was educated thr
ough the New Haven Public School System.
Priscilla was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took great pride in her career. She was employed by University Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation until its closing. She then continued her work at Columbus House, before moving on to The Arden Care Center. It was there that she proudly served as a chef until her retirement on September 13, 2026, just days before her passing.
Priscilla was a woman of deep faith and a spiritual woman of God. She believed strongly in having faith in God and loved sharing and discussing Bible scriptures with others. She enjoyed sitting quietly, people-watching, and taking time to meditate. Priscilla was a private person who had a gift for listening to others and offering thoughtful and meaningful advice.
She also knew how to have a good time. Priscilla enjoyed going to the casino, eating good food, spending time with family, and creating loving memories with her precious daughter. She especially enjoyed pulling the handle of the “one-armed bandit” and trying her luck at the casino.
Priscilla’s love, wisdom, quiet strength, and unique personality will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Priscilla leaves to cherish her memory, her precious daughter, Shameeka Campbell; sisters, Doris (Algon Brown) Campbell and Esther Bell; brother, Timothy Hagans; nieces, Shiquitta (Terrell) Martin and Chante Mcduffie; nephews, Daquon Mcduffie; great-nieces, Zaniha Washington, Makayla Ford, and Malia Mcduffie; great-nephews, Terrell Martin, Jr, Tythron Ford, Daquon Mcduffie, Jr, and Bryson Barnes.
She also leaves five aunts; cousins Stephen (Tracy) Davis and Jordan Davis; as well as numerous cousins, friends, and loved ones.
Priscilla will also be lovingly remembered by her companion, Leonard Kendall; bonus sister, Felicia Warren; goddaughter, Ebonye Burruss; and godson, Jimmy Davis.
Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved father, Henry Lee Campbell, II; brother, Henry Lee Campbell, III; grandmother, Ernestine Parker; grandfather, James Parker; aunt, Elaine Parker; and uncles, Edward Earl Parker, Bobby Stanton, Garland Hall, Roosevelt Howe, and Willie Wooten.
A celebration of Priscilla’s life will take place Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:00 AM at The New Trinity Temple COGIC, 285 Dixwell Ave, New Haven, CT 06511. Friends may call Friday at the church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Hamden Plains Cemetery, Hamden. Services by Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, 1287 Chapel St, New Haven, CT 06511.
