Santa Clara County addresses election safety as early voting begins
Oct 05, 2026
Monday marks the first day of early voting in California for November’s midterm election.
The Santa Clara County Registrar of Voters and Sheriff’s Office held a news conference Monday to address concerns and reassure voters about election security.
The Santa Clara County assistant sheriff
said the agency would not tolerate any intimidation at the polls, interference with the counting of ballots or anything else that could disrupt the election.
Deputies are expected to patrol polling locations on Election Day while maintaining a low profile.
The registrar also reassured voters that the usual voting options are available, including ballot drop boxes, in-person voting and voting by mail.
