BATON ROUGE mdash; The Baton Rouge Police Department received a nearly $1 million grant from the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, according to officials.nbsp;The yearly grant of $990,975 will help fund overtime enforcement from Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, 2027.nbsp;The enforcement will target speeding, impaired drivers and seatbelt violations, and will also help officers provide extra enforcement around holidays.nbsp;Officials said assignments will be based on traffic trends, including crashes and resident complaints.nbsp;The department is required to track enforcement activity and report results to the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.nbsp;Permalink| Comments ...read more read less
