OIL Meets NIL, Hopefully Harold Hamm is back in the news, this time for donating $150 million to the University of Oklahoma “to lift the health of Oklahoma by advancing health education, research and discovery …” among other things. That comes from the university’s website. In honor of h is generous donation, the university announced that the health campus would get a new name: the Harold Hamm Health Campus at the University of Oklahoma. If Hamm is in the mood to solve problems at OU, may we suggest an offensive line and perhaps a new quarterback for the beleaguered football team? Homers on the Range The Oklahoma City Comets won their first Triple-A National Championship on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Las Vegas Ballpark, defeating the Rochester Red Wings 5-3 in 10 innings to clinch the title. The Comets are the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have won the past two World Series titles. With the success stacking up like this, we’re wondering if there is room downtown to squeeze in yet another sports facility, this one for a Major League Baseball team. Constitutional Convention? See You in Court Former Rep. Mark McBride is suing Gov. Kevin Stitt over J. Kev’s decision to unilaterally schedule an April 2027 vote on whether Oklahoma should hold a constitutional convention. McBride actually supports a convention—he just thinks governors should follow the Constitution before trying to rewrite it. What a stickler. Stitt says he has the authority; McBride says the Legislature does. Now the Oklahoma Supreme Court gets to decide who actually read the instruction manual.
