RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Library of Virginia will host a tour of its archival storage on Saturday for American Archives Month. The guided tour will take visitors through the library's second floor, archival storage, special collections area and digitization lab on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to a release from the Library of Virginia. This tour will also take place twice on Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The 2026 theme for Virginia Archives Month is "Remember Me: Death and Memorial in the Archives.” Saturday's tour will be followed by another Archives Month event, "Theater, Church, Monument and Memory: Exploring the History of Monumental Church," which will feature talks, record displays, and tours of Monumental Church from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Both events are free, but registration is required. At the time of reporting, registration is full for Saturday's events, but waiting lists are available. Registration is open for the Oct. 17 tours.
