Courtesy of NSP.LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 29)–A fugitive from North Dakota was apprehended following a pursuit Tuesday morning in eastern Nebraska, the Nebraska State Patrol said. According to NSP, shortly after 8:30am troopers were notified that Milford Police were in pursuit of a vehicle believed to be connected to an active investigation in Fargo, North Dakota.  The pursuit turned onto eastbound Interstate 80 and headed toward the Lincoln metro area.  An NSP trooper joined the pursuit at the Crete/Pleasant Dale interchange. NSP’s AirWing was activated and started tracking the vehicle from the air as it continued on eastbound I-80, with speeds of the Toyota Camry reaching over 100 mph.  Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies and more NSP troopers joined the pursuit, as the suspect sped through the Lincoln area.  NSP says near Waverly, the suspect drove onto the shoulder of the Interstate toward a trooper trying to deploy stop sticks.  After stop sticks were successfully deployed, the suspect’s vehicle left Interstate 80 at the Ashland interchange in Cass County and came to a stop. The driver then refused troopers’ commands to exit the vehicle for several minutes. Just after 9:10 a.m., the suspect exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. The driver, Brandon George, 42, of Wahpeton, North Dakota, was arrested and lodged in Lancaster County Jail. Nebraska State Patrol investigators are working with the Fargo Police Department on the ongoing investigation. Local charges include willful reckless driving, flight to avoid arrest, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, attempt of a Class 1 felony, and terroristic threats.
