The ongoing measles outbreak throughout Pennsylvania continues as officials with the Pennsylvania Department of Health announced Tuesday that the Commonwealth has now seen at least 903 reported cases of the virus in 39 counties. Along with these cases, officials said, so far this year 176 people have been hospitalized with measles while four Pennsylvania residents have died measles-associated deaths. However, officials note that of the over 900 cases in the state, less than 1% of cases — only four individuals — of those who have been vaccinated have contracted measles. The new figures come as, officials said, the Pa. Dept. of Health “continues to lead Pennsylvania’s robust response to the ongoing measles outbreak.” Officials said the Pa. Since late April, officials said that health provides in Pennsylvania have administered more than 5,300 MMR vaccinations at 173 pop-up vaccination clinics in the affected communities. Dozens of additional vaccine clinics are scheduled for the upcoming weeks and months, based on community interest and need, officials said. Overall, state health center staff have administered more than 7,900 MMR vaccine doses to residents across the Commonwealth in 2026.
