MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — A 63-year-old man was arrested after an undercover online investigation by the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, authorities said. Detective Sgt. Patrick Williams conducted the investigation using an undercover decoy who posed as a minor in an online chat environment. I nvestigators said the suspect communicated with the undercover investigator, leading to the identification of Rodney Williams. Williams was located in Kentucky and arrested with help from the Kentucky State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and the Louisville Metro Police Department Fugitive Unit. He was extradited to Indiana on Sept. 28. Williams is preliminarily charged with: Child solicitation Sexual grooming Dissemination of matter harmful to a minor The Morgan County Sheriff’s Office is part of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which works with law enforcement agencies in Indiana and across the country to investigate people accused of using technology and online platforms to target children. ...read more read less
