Creative Women of the World (CWOW) invites the community to its second annual Art-a-Licious, an evening celebrating local artists, live music, and community. The event will take place Thursday, October 1, from 5–8 PM at JK O’Donnell’s Backyard “The Pitch” in downtown Fort Wayne. Admiss ion is a suggested $10 donation (or free). Founded in 2011, Creative Women of the World is a nonprofit fair trade store in downtown Fort Wayne focused on empowering women locally and globally through business and financial literacy training with their 8 module curriculum “Unlocking Your Design.” At the heart of Art-a-Licious is a juried art competition featuring local artists from across Northeast Indiana. Participating artists have created original works inspired by this year’s theme, “Rooted. Rising. Shining.”, with one artist receiving a $1,000 juried prize. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase original artwork while enjoying live music from local musicians Sunny Taylor, Jimmy Sizemore Mike Hayes, and Danny Reese. A portion of artwork sales will benefit Creative Women of the World and its work empowering women locally and globally. Art-a-Licious was created as a way to bring the community together around creativity while providing local artists with an opportunity to share and sell their work.
