The iconic Christ the Redeemer monument is joining the international football fun by illuminating itself in NFL colors and wearing a jersey for the 2026 Rio game. “It is remarkable to have the NFL present at one of the most iconic tourist attractions in Rio, Brazil, and the world: Christ the Re deemer. It complements a week in which the NFL has immersed itself in every aspect of Rio’s culture, the city, and its people. Seeing Christ the Redeemer associated with the NFL is one of the most emblematic NFL images anywhere in the world,” said NFL Brazil General Manager Luis Martinez. The Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens will play at Maracanã Stadium in a game that will be watched worldwide. The NFL will also be donating autographed league memorabilia to the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary. Those items are expected to be used to raise funds for social projects supported by the “Friends of the Redeemer” organization. “This initiative joins many other partnerships carried out through the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary’s Sports and Faith Center, with the belief that sports are a fundamental tool for integration and development in building a culture of respect and solidarity,” said Father Omar, Rector of the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary. The Cowboys vs. Ravens game marks the third consecutive NFL regular-season game hosted in Brazil, with the first two games being held in São Paulo.
