A woman was cited after a crash that left a pedestrian critically injured Saturday morning in Tampa, according to the Tampa Police Department (TPD).Officers responded just after 7 a.m. to the intersection of West Arch Street and North Boulevard following reports of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash, according to a news release.When officers arrived, they found an adult man with critical injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition, police said.According to the preliminary investigation, an adult woman driving a 2015 Toyota Corolla was attempting to make a left turn from eastbound West Arch Street onto northbound North Boulevard when she struck the pedestrian.TPD said the man was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of North Boulevard at the time of the crash.The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.As a result of the investigation, the driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian, TPD said.Investigators are still working to positively identify the pedestrian and are asking anyone with information to contact Tampa police at 813-231-6130 and reference case No. 26-569378.Police said speed and impairment are not believed to have been factors in the crash.North Boulevard was closed between West Arch Street and West Cypress Street during the investigation but has since reopened. ...read more read less
