(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Sept. 26)–Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) this week announced that portions of several Lincoln streets will close beginning the week of September 28. The closures are as follows:  Westbound “O” Street between Ninth and 16th streets will close Monday, September 28, for water main replacement work as part of Project “O” Street. Eastbound “O” Street between Ninth and 13th streets will remain open. The “O” Street intersections at Ninth, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th streets will be open to north and southbound traffic. South 40th Street between Pioneers Boulevard and Calvert Street will close from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday, September 28, for street repairs following emergency water main repairs. The recommended detour is Pioneers Boulevard to South 56th Street to Calvert Street. StarTran Route 53-SouthPointe will be detoured during this work. Southbound 10th Street between Charleston and “T” streets will close from 8 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, September 29, for utility work. The recommended detour is Military Avenue to Antelope Valley Parkway to Salt Creek Roadway to Ninth Street. North 56th Street between Hartley and Knox streets will close beginning Tuesday, September 29, for utility work. This work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, October 2. The recommended detour is Adams Street to Touzalin Avenue to Fremont Street. Westbound Lincoln Mall between 13th and 14th streets will close beginning Thursday, October 1, for landscape maintenance. This work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, October 6. The recommended detour is South 14th Street to “L” Street. Saturday, September 26, noon through 8 p.m. Eighth Street between “O” and “P” streets will close for Oktoberfest. Sunday, September 27, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pinnacle Arena Drive between Eighth and “N” streets, Canopy Street between “N” Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive, “N” Street between Canopy Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive, “P” Street between Canopy Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive, “Q” Street between Seventh Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive, and “R” Street between Seventh Street and Pinnacle Arena Drive, will close for the Pumpkin Run. Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public’s patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
