(KRON) -- An Alameda County jury convicted two men of murdering an 18-year-old Oakland woman, Bre’Elle Vercher, prosecutors announced Thursday. Silasomari Bryant, 33, and Derrick McIntyre, 49, were found guilty of second-degree murder following a jury trial. On May 22, 2024, Bryant got into an altercation with McIntyre, and the two men argued face-to-face and over the phone, prosecutors said. "Ultimately, both drove to the corner of Manila andWest MacArthur, where they engaged in a shootout," the District Attorney's Office wrote. Neither shooter struck their intended target, but Vercher was sitting in a car nearby Manila Avenue. Elizabeth Holmes to be released from prison early "Ms. Vercher was struck twice in the back during the shooting. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries," the DA's office wrote. The two gunmen were uninjured.
