The Dallas Wings will play the Golden State Valkyries in Round 1 of the WNBA playoffs. Game 1 is Sunday in San Francisco. Game 2 will be in Arlington at the College Park Center. The best-of-three series will return to California if needed. The Wings did not beat the Valkyries during the regular s eason, losing in June on the road and twice in August (once at the American Airlines Center, once on the road). The Wings have not made the playoffs since 2023. The Wings were swept by the eventual WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces in 2023; the Wings defeated the Atlanta Dream in the first round that season. The Aces would go on to win the championship in 2025 as well. The Wings have won seven of their last eight games, with their lone loss coming on Monday after leading by 14 points. Paige Bueckers ended the regular season with a team record of 878 points. Bueckers had 20-plus points and five-plus assists for the third straight game to end the season. The Valkyries have made the playoffs in each of their first two season in the league, joining as an expansion team in 2025. They play at the Chase Center, the same arena as the Warriors (NBA). The Valkyries won 32 games this season, a 9 game improvement on their inaugural season. Tickets for next week’s home game 2 are already on sale. Round 2 would start Sunday, Oct. 4, for the teams that advance. The first round will air on other network partners, while NBC will televise WNBA Semifinals and Finals games.
