I love living here in Park City. There are so many generous and hard-working people here. All doing their best to make this a wonderful community. And of course, looking at the mountains. I have been volunteering at the Christian Center Food Pantry for a little over two years, so I see a lot o f giving  (and a lot of need).  Five days a week, multiple people are up before sunrise to pick up generous donations from all of the grocery stores in town. We get several large crates of bakery items, dairy, eggs, fresh fruits and vegetables, deli item like salads, sandwiches, fancy cheese, meals, sushi and pizza. We also get a lot of meat donated. On Friday, left over fresh food is picked up and driven to a church in Salt Lake, helping even more people. And that doesn’t even include all the non-perishable food and diapers and pet food that arrives daily. And local food drives. Last week I was taking empty boxes to the recycle bin. It was thankfully emptied that morning. There was a High Valley Transit van bringing a person in a wheelchair to the food pantry. I didn’t even know that service was available. How many people are involved making that happen? Amazing. There was also a KPCW pledge drive happening with hundreds of people calling in donations. The Lions Club collects eyeglasses at all three post offices and Recycle Utah. We sort and clean them and give them to the Hope Alliance, and other Lions Clubs, for their vision missions that help people be able to see and work. I also read The Park Record and listen to KPCW so am aware that there are a lot of nonprofits helping a lot of different people. Thank you for making this such a special place to live for everyone.
