Brown water flooded parts of downtown San Diego and Seaport Village on Tuesday afternoon following a water main break. The water main break occurred at 789 W Harbor Dr. Ste 158, in front of Eddie V’s Prime Seafood Restaurant, the city of San Diego said. Nearby, a large sinkhole had emerged in the street. Some streets in downtown San Diego were also seen flooded with water. Footage shows water in the San Diego Bay near Tuna Harbor Dockside Market turning brown and the boardwalk in Seaport Village flooding with the brown water around 2 p.m. Footage from SanDiegoWebCam shows people continuing the walk across the pier near the Tuna Harbor Dockside Market on Tuesday afternoon. Even as brown water filled the sidewalk, people could be seen sitting at a restaurant near the Shorebird restaurant in Seaport Village, which is built just above the bay water. Restaurants Eddie V’s, Puesto and The Cheesecake Factory were shut down. A hostess at The Cheesecake Factory told NBC 7 they had no water in their bathrooms. Most restaurants, snack shops and stores appeared to still be open for business at Seaport Village. Some were closed.
