SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- The San Francisco Fire Department said it responded at 4:40 p.m. Saturday to a report of a family heading to the hospital to deliver their baby. However, due to heavy traffic in the area of Crossover and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near Golden Gate Park, the family was forc ed to pull over to the shoulder and dial 911. SF firefighters work to extinguish 1-alarm structure fire “San Francisco Fire Paramedic Engine 14 and American Medical Response (AMR) 110, a 911 provider here in San Francisco, were dispatched to the scene,” fire officials said in a social media post. “AMR Unit 110 arrived first. However, due to traffic, the crew had to park an estimated two blocks away and ran and hiked to the location just in time to deliver a healthy baby girl.” Engine 14 later arrived and assisted with care for the mother and newborn daughter.
