LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Two firefighters were hospitalized after a single-vehicle accident overturned their fire truck in Louisa County on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday, Sept. 19, Louisa County said in a post that a Louisa Fire Department fire truck from the Trevillians Fire Station was invo lved in a single-vehicle accident on Oakland Road while the crew was responding to a vehicle fire. The fire engine was driving south on Oakland Road near Louisa Road when it ran off the right side of the road, Virginia State Police said in a release on Sunday, Sept. 20. Police said the driver overcorrected, which caused the truck to cross the road, enter a yard, overturn and come to rest upright. The men were wearing seat belts, police said. No other vehicles were involved, and the crash is under investigation. The couple whose yard was damaged said they are thankful no one died in the crash.
